Missions at Rochester Covenant church
One of Rochester Covenant Church's core values says "We are Missional." And what we mean by that, is because God has a passion for people throughout the world to be reconciled back into relationship with him, and to see God's reign and rule extended everywhere, “we join God in God’s mission to see more disciples among more populations in a more caring and just world.”
We find God's mission as he promised Abraham that he would create through him a nation who would bless all the nations of the world. We see this in Jesus' own mission to "seek and save those who are lost," and in Jesus' great commission to his disciples to "go into all the world and make disciples of every [people group], baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything" he has commanded us to do--and in the commitment to carry out Jesus' mission we find in the early church and even today--at times at the cost of people's lives.
Our own history in the movement we call the Evangelical Covenant Church, we were first known as “Mission Friends”--people who are passionate to work together as friends in Christ to carry out God's mission to the world.
In this spirit, Rochester Covenant Church has been involved in supporting, sending, praying for and encouraging people to pursue Christ's mission here at home and around the world. We currently support over two dozen missionaries, missionary families, or missions organizations, and continue to encourage each other to live out Christ's mission wherever he calls us.

MISSIONARIES AND MISSIONS ORGANIZATIONS
Because some of our missionaries and missions organizations work in parts of the world that are hostile to God's Good News or to followers of Jesus, we do not publish names and details on the Internet. However, we have in print a "Mission Prayer Calendar" for those we support through Rochester Covenant Church as well as a missions prayer guide produced by the Evangelical Covenant Church, which are free and available at our Missions Table in the church foyer.
A sampling of the missions work we support through Rochester Covenant Church includes: A medical clinic initiative in the Democratic Republic of Congo, international student ministries, Christian camping, church and educational and medical and evangelistic and reconciliation work in Central, East and Southeast Asia, cross-cultural ministry to impoverished neighborhoods in SE Rochester, housing for homeless families and prison and ex-offender ministries in Rochester, training Christian leaders in Mexico and Europe, ministry to vulnerable children in Central America and community development in Mexico, Christian camping in Japan, an arts outreach ministry in France, facilitating missions trips and global engagements through the Evangelical Covenant Church, development and evangelistic work in East Africa, university ministries in the Twin Cities and Rochester, crisis pregnancy ministry, and Bible translation and linguistic work around the world.
